There are many hiking trails in Austria that are very suitable for the whole family. Adventurous and educational trails through beautiful nature. Some hiking trails start right behind Waldhaus. But both Wald and Vorarlberg have much more to offer in the summer.

During summer Bärenland in Wald is a paradise for both small and big adventurers. It’s a lovely place to be, play and walk.
Be sure to explore the several surrounding climbing parks as well. Here you can climb and hang between the tree tops. Move through the cable and beam structures and overcome obstacles, bridges and slopes. For adventurers only!
For the thrill seeking children and parents there’s the Alpine Coaster in Golm. A 2600 meter long spectacular toboggan that is open all year long.

In Dornbirn you will find Inatura, a fantastic research facility & nature conservation museum. You will also be able to find the Rolls Royce and the printed matter museum in Dornbirn. You can also find a small museum in Wald that covers the history of the Klostertal and it’s inhabitants.
Looking for something farther away from home? Consider going to Innsbruck (115 km) for a day, or visit Bodensee. You could also visit the Bregenzer Festspiel or go see the modern art in Kunsthaus Bregenz.
